Meet the Principal

Hello! My name is Marissa Duren.

I’m so excited to be joining the Semper team as the new principal! I grew up in Colorado and joined the army after high school. I served for 6 years, from 1999-2005. When I got out, I went to college. I have now been in education for 17 years. I started my career in Aurora as a middle school language arts teacher. From there, I became a dean at Alameda International in Jeffco, and then an assistant principal at the same school. I believe a strong culture leads to academic success and personal growth. I also believe that if students feel safe, seen and loved, they will achieve. I have experience in IB and believe in the mission to produce global citizens who are acutely aware of the world around them. I hope to lead with structure, love, and lots of fun. I look forward to meeting families and students at our meet and greet on August 13^th.
